What is a product skill?
A product skill is a reusable instruction file that teaches an AI assistant like Claude or ChatGPT to do one product job well — synthesize customer interviews, score a backlog, write a PRD, analyze an A/B test. Unlike a one-off prompt, a skill defines the inputs it needs, the method to follow, the exact output format and the quality checks to pass, so the whole team gets the same rigor instead of prompt roulette.
Rigor is the whole point, because product work is where AI's failure modes cost the most. In Teresa Torres's published test of interview synthesis, roughly 30% of the "direct quotes" ChatGPT produced were inaccurate or not in the transcript at all. Every skill here is built against that: quotes are verbatim and traceable, counts come from a participant-by-theme matrix, small samples are labeled as signals, and statistics follow the formulas — not the vibe.
Skills use an open format — a single SKILL.md file — that Claude, ChatGPT, OpenAI's Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor and 20+ other tools now run natively, and every skill also ships as a paste-once ChatGPT Project version under the 8,000-character limit. No integrations required: transcripts, exports and specs pasted in are enough, and connectors are used only when available.
All 20 skills at a glance
Research & discovery
Plan interviews that test real assumptions, and turn sessions into findings you can defend.
Customer Interview Guide
Builds a discovery interview guide from one decision and its riskiest assumptions, rewrites leading or hypothetical questions, and adds a screener, probes and a notes template.
User Interview Synthesis
Synthesizes interview transcripts one by one, then across, counting only from a participant-by-theme matrix — findings with verified quotes, counter-evidence and capped confidence.
Usability Test Analysis
Turns usability session notes into a 0–4 severity issue log with x/n counts, task completion with adjusted-Wald intervals, and fixes tied to the metric they should move.
Survey & NPS Analysis
Checks a survey for bias, then reports full distributions with margins of error, NPS with its own error bar, n≥30 segment comparisons, coded open-ends and what not to conclude.
Voice of the customer
Turn tickets, requests and churn reasons into problems ranked by evidence, not volume.
Customer Feedback Analysis
Codes tickets, reviews, NPS verbatims and call notes into a fixed taxonomy, dedupes by account, and returns problems ranked by how many customers have them, with sourced verbatim quotes.
Feature Request Triage
Merges feature requests from sales, CS and calls into underlying jobs, classifies each on evidence, recommends build, workaround, roadmap-candidate or decline, and drafts honest replies.
Churn Reason Analysis
Tests every stated cancellation reason against usage and billing behavior, codes churn in a fixed taxonomy, and returns preventable patterns with the earliest signal that could have caught each.
Strategy & prioritization
Make the hard choices explicit — with sourced scores and a strategy that actually chooses.
Feature Prioritization (RICE)
Scores a backlog with RICE using anchored Impact, evidence-capped Confidence and sourced Reach, then draws a capacity cut line and tests whether the ranking survives doubt.
Product Strategy Memo
Drafts or pressure-tests a two-page product strategy: a graded diagnosis of the crux, a policy that rules options out, coherent actions, a not-do list and kill criteria.
Outcome Roadmap
Turns a feature list or backlog into a Now / Next / Later roadmap of problems and outcome metrics with honest commitment labels, plus an external-safe version for customers.
Specs & delivery
Write lean PRDs, get them reviewed honestly, and hand engineering stories with no ambiguity.
PRD Writer
Turns a problem, research notes or tickets into a lean 600–1,000 word PRD where every requirement traces to the problem and every unknown is a labeled slot, not a guess.
PRD Review
Red-teams a PRD or spec on eight anchored dimensions with a quote behind every score, ranks at least five issues by severity, and returns cuts, cross-team questions and a fixed verdict.
User Stories & Acceptance Criteria
Turns a PRD or feature description into INVEST-checked user stories with Given/When/Then criteria, a negative case each, a nine-point edge-case checklist and traceability to requirement IDs.
Metrics & experiments
Define what moves the number, size tests correctly, and read results without fooling yourself.
Metric Tree & North Star
Tests your north star against delivered customer value, decomposes it into owned drivers with counter-metrics, and reconciles every branch against your own numbers with the math shown.
A/B Test Design
Designs an A/B test backward from the decision: one primary metric, a sample size that includes power, duration in full weeks, a no-peeking stopping rule and a pre-registered decision table.
A/B Test Analysis
Reads pasted A/B test results in a fixed order — SRM check, pre-registration, effect with confidence interval, guardrails, corrections — and ends with one ship, iterate, kill or inconclusive call.
Retention Cohort Analysis
Reads a pasted cohort table, marks immature cells as censored, pools retention by cohort size, finds the churn window, and returns three hypotheses with the test that would confirm each.
Ship & communicate
Release notes, stakeholder updates and UX copy that say exactly what's true.
Release Notes Writer
Turns tickets and PR descriptions into customer-facing release notes — breaking changes first with migration steps, benefits only where tickets support them, in three paste-ready formats.
Stakeholder Update
Turns raw notes into a bottom-line-first status update with anchored Green/Yellow/Red status, decisions framed as options, ROAM risks, and exec and team versions.
UX Copy & Microcopy
Writes error messages, empty states, confirmations, buttons and onboarding copy that follow fixed patterns, fit every character limit with counts printed, and come with two alternatives each.
How to install these skills
In Claude
- 1Download the skill's .zip from its page — it contains the SKILL.md file.
- 2On claude.ai, open Settings → Features (Capabilities on some plans), make sure code execution is on, and upload the zip under Skills.
- 3In Claude Code, unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ instead — or .claude/skills/ inside a repo to share it with your team.
- 4Then just describe the task. Claude loads the matching skill automatically; you never invoke it by name.
In ChatGPT
- 1Copy the skill's ChatGPT version — every one fits ChatGPT's 8,000-character Project instructions limit.
- 2Create a Project named after the skill, paste it into the Project's instructions, and run every task of that type inside that Project.
- 3On plans with ChatGPT Skills, you can instead paste the SKILL.md body under Plugins → Skills and invoke it with @skill-name.
The same files work in Gemini, Copilot and any assistant that accepts long instructions — SKILL.md is an open standard. One thing not to do: don't wrap these as custom GPTs, which OpenAI retires in December 2026.

What is a product skill?
A product skill is a reusable instruction file that teaches an AI assistant like Claude or ChatGPT how to do one product job well — interview synthesis, prioritization, a PRD, an experiment readout. Unlike a one-off prompt, it defines the inputs, the method and the exact output format, so results stay consistent and defensible across the team.
Do these skills work with ChatGPT or only with Claude?
Both. Every skill ships in two formats: a SKILL.md file you upload to Claude (claude.ai, Claude Code or the API) and a version sized for a ChatGPT Project's 8,000-character instructions field. SKILL.md itself is an open standard that ChatGPT's Skills feature, OpenAI's Codex, Gemini CLI and 20+ other tools also read, so one download covers most of your stack.
How do I install a Claude skill?
Download the skill's zip and upload it on claude.ai under Settings → Features → Skills (code execution must be enabled). In Claude Code, unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ instead. Claude then loads the skill automatically whenever your request matches its description — you don't call it by name.
Are the skills really free?
Yes. Every skill on this page is free to read, copy, download and adapt — no sign-up. The optional all-in-one pack asks for a work email so we can tell you when new skills are added; that is the only gate anywhere in the library.
How is a skill different from a prompt?
A prompt is a one-off instruction; a skill is a packaged workflow. A skill carries a when-to-use description, required inputs, a step-by-step method, an output template and quality rules (like "never invent facts that aren't in the transcript"), so anyone on the team gets the same result without prompt-crafting. Assistants also load skills automatically when the task matches, which a pasted prompt can't do.
Can I use these as a custom GPT?
We don't recommend it. OpenAI announced that custom GPTs retire on December 11, 2026, with their instructions migrating into plugin skills. Use a ChatGPT Project (works on every plan) or ChatGPT Skills (business plans) instead — both paths are covered on every skill page here.
Can AI invent user quotes or overstate small samples?
Left alone, yes — a published test found about 30% of ChatGPT's "direct quotes" from interviews were wrong or missing from the source. These skills require verbatim quotes traced to a participant and line, compute counts from a participant-by-theme matrix, and label findings from fewer than five people as signals, not conclusions.
Who maintains this library?
The team at Naoma — we build an AI demo agent that talks to every inbound buyer, so turning raw customer conversations into product signal is part of our daily work. We use these skills ourselves and update the library as models and product practice evolve.
Hear from every buyer, not just the ones who book a call.
These skills turn customer conversations into product signal. Naoma is the AI demo agent that has those conversations with all of them: it demos and qualifies 100% of your inbound leads in minutes — in 80+ languages, 24/7 — and surfaces the questions, objections and feature requests buyers raise along the way.
