What is a marketing skill?
A marketing skill is a reusable instruction file that teaches an AI assistant like Claude or ChatGPT to do one marketing job well — write a positioning statement, build an SEO brief, plan a launch, read your attribution. Unlike a one-off prompt, a skill defines the inputs it needs, the method to follow, the exact output format and the quality checks to pass, so the whole team gets consistent work instead of generic copy.
The difference that matters most in marketing is what a skill refuses to make up. Assistants confidently invent search volumes, benchmarks and customer proof: in one public test, ChatGPT put the monthly searches for "seo" at 6,600 when Ahrefs measured 191,000. Every skill here works only from what you paste — your data, your proof, your customers' words — and flags what's missing instead of filling the gap.
Skills use an open format — a single SKILL.md file — that Claude, ChatGPT, OpenAI's Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor and 20+ other tools now run natively, and every skill also ships as a paste-once ChatGPT Project version under the 8,000-character limit. No integrations required: if your assistant has web search or connectors it will use them, but no skill depends on them.
All 20 skills at a glance
Positioning & messaging
Positioning built on real switching evidence, and messaging where every claim has proof behind it.
Positioning Builder
Builds B2B positioning from customer switching evidence — alternatives, unique attributes, value, best-fit customers, category — scored 0–4, with a swap-tested statement and the riskiest assumptions.
Messaging House Builder
Turns positioning and proof into a messaging house — category POV, value proposition, three proof-bound pillars — plus a persona-by-stage message map, proof gaps, and words to use and avoid.
Message Test Planner
Designs 5-second, comprehension and preference tests with neutral questions and sample math, then scores real responses 0–4 on four dimensions and calls a winner only when the data supports one.
Competitor Messaging Teardown
Maps competitors' public claims from dated homepages, ads, pricing pages and reviews into a territory matrix — crowded, contested, whitespace — and scores 3–5 territories you could own.
Voice-of-Customer Miner
Turns reviews, transcripts, surveys and tickets into themes ranked by frequency × intensity, graded for confidence, plus a verbatim message bank where every quote traces to its source.
Launches & campaigns
Tier launches by impact, brief campaigns with kill criteria, and ship ad copy that fits the limits.
B2B Launch Planner
Tiers a B2B launch with an anchored five-criterion rubric, then builds the tier's asset plan with owners and dates, an enablement-first timeline, a go/no-go gate and baseline-based metrics.
Campaign Brief Builder
Writes a one-page B2B campaign brief: one objective, an evidence-tagged insight, a single-minded proposition, justified channels, a pre-registered primary metric and kill criteria set before launch.
LinkedIn & Google Ads Copy Writer
Writes Google responsive search ads and LinkedIn single-image ads with a printed character count on every line, one angle per variant from a fixed taxonomy, proof-cited claims and a test plan.
Landing Page Teardown
Scores a B2B landing page on eight anchored dimensions with the page quoted behind every finding, counts unsupported claims, and ranks fixes by impact × effort.
Content, SEO & AI search
Briefs with real information gain, refresh decisions from your own data, and visibility in AI answers.
SEO Content Brief Writer
Turns a target query and real SERP results into a writer-ready brief: intent verdict with evidence, an information-gain plan with SME questions, an answer-first outline and counted titles.
Content Refresh Audit
Assigns every URL in a Search Console export one decision (refresh, consolidate, redirect, prune, noindex or leave) with a reason, flags cannibalization, and protects pages that carry value.
AI Search Visibility Audit
Builds a repeatable buyer prompt panel, scores how AI assistants mention, recommend, cite and describe your brand, and turns wrong answers into page fixes and PR targets.
Case Study Writer
Turns a customer interview into a case study where every metric traces to a timestamped quote or data row, in three formats, plus the approval checklist your customer signs.
LinkedIn Thought-Leadership Writer
Turns an executive's notes, voice memos or talks into three LinkedIn posts on one idea, in their voice, each built on a first-hand specific from the input and nothing invented.
Lifecycle & marketing ops
Nurture that's triggered by behavior, scoring calibrated on closed deals, and tracking that stays clean.
B2B Nurture Sequence Builder
Builds behavior-triggered B2B nurture sequences where every email has a send and exit condition, one job or objection, sourced proof and one CTA, measured on clicks, replies and conversions.
Lead Scoring & MQL Designer
Builds a fit + intent lead scoring model with every weight justified by lift on your own won and lost leads, a back-tested MQL threshold, and the SLA and governance to keep it honest.
UTM Naming Convention Builder
Builds a controlled UTM vocabulary with a fixed medium list and campaign pattern, then validates pasted tags with fixed error codes and returns corrected, CSV-ready URLs.
Measurement & leadership
Defensible attribution, a budget that follows the evidence, and a board report that leads with the truth.
Attribution Readout
Reconciles ad-platform, analytics, CRM and "How did you hear about us?" data into one conversion count, models side by side, and a High/Medium/Low confidence rating per channel.
Budget & Channel Mix Planner
Turns spend and pipeline by channel into pipeline per dollar and marginal returns with the math shown, a capped reallocation with a test reserve, and three scenarios that name their assumptions.
CMO Board Report Builder
Turns a quarter's marketing metrics into a board update that leads with the miss: three things, a defined scoreboard, variance by driver with the math, a 6–8 slide outline and a one-page memo.
How to install these skills
In Claude
- 1Download the skill's .zip from its page — it contains the SKILL.md file.
- 2On claude.ai, open Settings → Features (Capabilities on some plans), make sure code execution is on, and upload the zip under Skills.
- 3In Claude Code, unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ instead — or .claude/skills/ inside a repo to share it with your team.
- 4Then just describe the task. Claude loads the matching skill automatically; you never invoke it by name.
In ChatGPT
- 1Copy the skill's ChatGPT version — every one fits ChatGPT's 8,000-character Project instructions limit.
- 2Create a Project named after the skill, paste it into the Project's instructions, and run every task of that type inside that Project.
- 3On plans with ChatGPT Skills, you can instead paste the SKILL.md body under Plugins → Skills and invoke it with @skill-name.
The same files work in Gemini, Copilot and any assistant that accepts long instructions — SKILL.md is an open standard. One thing not to do: don't wrap these as custom GPTs, which OpenAI retires in December 2026.

All 20 skills in both formats — SKILL.md files ready for Claude plus every ChatGPT version — in one zip, with a README that maps each skill to the moment in your quarter you'd reach for it.

What is a marketing skill?
A marketing skill is a reusable instruction file that teaches an AI assistant like Claude or ChatGPT how to do one marketing job well — positioning, an SEO brief, a launch plan, an attribution readout. Unlike a one-off prompt, it defines the inputs, the method and the exact output format, so results stay consistent across the team.
Do these skills work with ChatGPT or only with Claude?
Both. Every skill ships in two formats: a SKILL.md file you upload to Claude (claude.ai, Claude Code or the API) and a version sized for a ChatGPT Project's 8,000-character instructions field. SKILL.md itself is an open standard that ChatGPT's Skills feature, OpenAI's Codex, Gemini CLI and 20+ other tools also read, so one download covers most of your stack.
How do I install a Claude skill?
Download the skill's zip and upload it on claude.ai under Settings → Features → Skills (code execution must be enabled). In Claude Code, unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ instead. Claude then loads the skill automatically whenever your request matches its description — you don't call it by name.
Are the skills really free?
Yes. Every skill on this page is free to read, copy, download and adapt — no sign-up. The optional all-in-one pack asks for a work email so we can tell you when new skills are added; that is the only gate anywhere in the library.
How is a skill different from a prompt?
A prompt is a one-off instruction; a skill is a packaged workflow. A skill carries a when-to-use description, required inputs, a step-by-step method, an output template and quality rules (like "never invent facts that aren't in the transcript"), so anyone on the team gets the same result without prompt-crafting. Assistants also load skills automatically when the task matches, which a pasted prompt can't do.
Can I use these as a custom GPT?
We don't recommend it. OpenAI announced that custom GPTs retire on December 11, 2026, with their instructions migrating into plugin skills. Use a ChatGPT Project (works on every plan) or ChatGPT Skills (business plans) instead — both paths are covered on every skill page here.
Will these skills invent statistics or search volumes?
No — that's the rule they're built around. Search volumes, benchmarks, conversion rates and customer proof come only from what you paste or what a connected tool returns. Anything missing is marked as a gap with a [NEED: …] flag, because a brief or board report built on invented numbers is worse than one with an honest blank.
